Wow! Couldn't this be a hybrid Black Redstart x Common Redstart? However, all other pics of (sometimes presumed) hybrids of these species that I found on the web show a rather abrupt transition between the black (upper) breast and reddish belly. Furthermore, the black/greyish colours of this bird's breast extend further down to the lower part of the breast and the flanks. Do you (or does anyone) have a better explanation for the reddish belly and vent?
