Nikon D2x, 300mm F/2.8 Tripod mounted. I waited for this bird to eventually appear on my side of the mallow plant. It looked directly at me and fired about 20 shots - this one was the best.

This flightless bird spent one month in this saltwater pool while it moulted its flight feathers. Nikon D80 and 300mm F/2.8 lens. Distance from bird approx 20 meters.
