In Zweden wordt getracht het aantal aalscholvers te beteugelen, met als doel de visstand voor de commerciële vissers te beschermen. Ze doen dat echter op een minder frisse manier: http://www.svd.se/nyheter/inrikes/aggprickare-anmals-ska-ha-spetsat-fagelungar-pa-nalar_6168763.svd
