I had the chance to spend some days in Bulgaria again. Here is one example from the "Eagle" session in the mountains. An amazing experience!! This is the female, which was even larger than the male. Very impressive birds. Regards Andreas. Scientific name: Aquila chrysaetos

Another picture from my session with the Dipper. Despite the very close distance (appr. 4m), the Dipper was relaxed enough to take care of his feathers etc.. Regards Andreas. Scientific name: Cinclus cinclus

I took this picture some days ago in Bulgaria while sitting in a "low level" hide, waiting for the Sparrowhawk. The Wagtail was very relaxed and seemed to enjoy a nice, quiet autumn morning. Regards Andreas. Scientific name: Motacilla cinerea

Not as cold as this winter, February 2009 was still cold enough to see Buzzards fighting over their prey frequently. Scientific name: Buteo buteo

Like a butterfly - that's what came to mind when this magnificient bird passed by only a few meters away, with gentle wingbeats gliding down into a steep gorge. Scientific name: Tichodroma muraria

This Hoopoe used a similar route flying to and from a feeding ground which enabled me to wait for the right moment to take this picture. Scientific name: Upupa epops

Placing a hide next to a drinking pool for cattle was very productive. Amongst others this Turtle Dove came for a quick refreshing morning bath. I considered myself very lucky to catch this photo in great light conditions especially since this species is quite shy normally . Scientific name: Streptopelia turtur
