I couldn't believe my ears, when high in the mountain (abut 1100-1200 m. above sea level) I heard the typical song of this birds. I got off from the car and almost lain doun on the meadow waiting and hoping to see it. Stroke of luck came after while and I was very happy.

More then two hour hidden on the shore I wached the birds, and finally I made a few shots of the pair.

I took this picture in the woodland surrounds the cyti of Smolyan- West Rhodopi Mauntin. The bird was veri busy to faind food.

The old boats are good place for the Grey Herons to relax.
